The primary target of our health and wellness program will be the following demographics:
Each target segment will have a unique focus to better fit their lifestyle and priorities.
The primary target of our sports education and ICT education program will be in the following demographics:
Healing Hours is a program offered to children and adults to help them cultivate healthy eating habits, a regular exercise routine, and through supplements and detox. This program will primarily help children and adults who are obese.
We hope to respond to this increasing global public health issue. Obesity is labeled a national epidemic, and obesity affects one in three adults and one in six children in the United States of America. Nearly 40% of all adults over the age of 20 in the U.S. – about 93.3 million people – are currently obese, according to data published in JAMA.
The prevalence of obesity in the last three decades is probably due to urbanization, sedentary lifestyle, and increased consumption of high-calorie processed food. In our program, we will help our students to make better choices including food, nutrition, how they spend their time, and their overall health and wellness.
We will be able to get our students moving through sports and solid community support. They will be able to play, socialize, and get fit at the same time. Sport has the capacity to transform the lives of individuals. It bolsters physical, psychological, emotional, and social well-being and development. Sports play a significant role in cultures and communities around the world.
[Tech Kids] is an educational program offered to children aged 5-18 and young adults aged 19-26. They will get the opportunity to develop their ICT skills, especially their mastery of coding, robotics, and 3-D printing. These classes will be conducted after their sports classes/basketball games. We hope to bridge the gap in the digital divide by educating more children about promising careers in the technology industry.
[Dream High] is a career orientation program that aims to introduce children and young adults to different job opportunities in the sports industry. They will get to know about the following careers: (1) Referee, (2) Sports Trainer, (3) Physical Therapist, (4) Counselor and psychologist, (5) Sports Agent, and (6) Sports Lawyer. We hope they will get exposure to the day in the life of the people working in the athletic entrepreneurship industry.
[Helping Hands] is a support program dedicated to single parents with kids with special needs. It aims to provide parenting seminars, mental health and counseling sessions, and solid community support that will ease the difficulty of raising children with different needs.
More than three million children in the United States have a disability, accounting for around 4.3 percent of the population under the age of 18. Because they lack access to prenatal and other health care, they can't afford the additional expenditures of caring for a kid with disabilities. Families of color and those living in poverty are greatly affected by this concern. About 6.9% of children living in poverty have a disability, compared to 3.8 percent of children living in poverty.
Parents with disabilities face many challenges and can benefit from support and assistance. Helping hands hopes to ease the burden of single parents with kids who have special needs through conducting a monthly parenting workshop that will help the parents to know how to better support their children while growing up. We will invite experts on parenting or members of the community who are willing to share their stories.
The program will also facilitate a support group and community where single parents will be able to share their experiences, advice, and conversations, along with access to research and training resources to help address the issues they face and experiences of discrimination and disparities. An online community will also be available, especially for those who are not able to go on-site for face-to-face sessions.
They will also be given time for mental health and counseling support through directed support groups that will be facilitated by a volunteer mental health professional. The parents have the option to let their family or relatives babysit their kids while they participate in the support sessions. However, if they have no one to assist them, a pool of volunteers will also be available to babysit their kids provided they are trained to handle kids with special needs.

Michael Anderson AKA Coach is the founder of BLSSD210 Wellness, a nonprofit organization based in Nassau County, NY. They conduct sports camps and wellness programs for children and adults to combat the rising public health concern, obesity. He is also part of the board of directors for a non-profit called For Gotten Dads, out of Maryland where they help men get back to their families after falling on hard times.
He decided to create this foundation because when he was young, he was always overweight. He had to go to the husky section of clothing shops and he was not able to keep up with his friends, because he was overweight. Being teased and called names hurt and he doesn't want children to have to go through that. So by having them move and exercise, eat right, and take proper supplements, he dreams we can overcome the obesity problem in our country. “I want to help them to feel good and create better habits,” he said.
